Well, I'm working on some trades, but I thought to save some time in the future I would cover some things that might make the trades a little easier.
I've posted what I have to trade and what I want on pages that are listed at the top of the blog. If you have something I want, and you want to make a trade, when you email me, tell me what you have to trade, and if possible include a photograph, or scan. If it's a gaming book, I would like to know which edition, and the condition. Also, let me know what you want, and what you're willing to trade for it.
My trading list is organised in such a way that the things I really want the most are at the top of the list, i.e they are listed in order of importance.
As far as condition goes, I'm not necessarily looking for something in mint condition. Then again, I don't want something that has seen better days, or reeks of smoke, and has tons of water damage, stains, or excessive highlighting, marks, or writing on the pages. Think about it, would you want a book missing so many pages that it's useless?
Also, I'm not always looking to come out ahead in a trade. If it's something I want, then I'm willing to trade a little extra. However, if it's not on my list, but you may think I want it, then I may want a little more, because I will probably only turn around and put it in the trading pile.
I haven't had any problems yet, but I wanted to cover these points, to prevent problems in the future. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Ogre Miniatures/Steve Jackson Games
Due to software incompatiblity issues I am unable to post pictures on eBay. So I thought I would post these here, a bunch of Ogre miniatures by Ral Partha. These are for the Steve Jackson Game, and to the best of my knowledge OOP.
The packs are unopened, and there are 9 of them. There are a few loose bits from an another ogre. I will list them later on the "The Trading Pile" page.

Warhammer 40K Space Ork Miniatures
I'm not sure why I have these. These things are old. I bought them about 15 years ago??? Anyway, I'm throwing these up here, but I may decide to put them on eBay. Some of the packs were opened, but sealed with tape after the pieces were checked.
There's also an extra pack of the close combat weapon sprues, but I'm keeping those.
Now I know I called this a barter blog, but if you don't have anything to trade, and really want something we can work something out. My first new gaming purchase is probably going to be the WH40K Assault On Black Reach Boxed Set. I think that would be a good start. I contemplated just the rule book, and then some minis, but this seems good to get started.

the Scavenger's Zone ( Yahoo Group )
Okay, I've created a Yahoo Group for a gaming barter group. Here's the link for the Scavenger's Zone . I wanted a name similar to this blog, yet different so there wouldn't be any confusion between the two.
So, if you've got some stuff you no longer want or need, and there's something you would like to trade for, you can join this group. I'm still working on all the details, but for now things are gonna be a bit unrestricted. I haven't listed the group on the Yahoo directory yet, and I may not do that. I haven't decided if the messages need to be moderated, so for now everything is un-moderated. If there gets to be a problem I may change that.
I haven't written a huge list of rules, well, there are no rules yet. Again, I'll play it by ear, and if necessary I will come up with some guidelines.
This is an experiment, and if it doesn't work out that's okay. I'll see how it goes. I mainly want it to be a group for trading gaming related items, but I think we can be a bit lenient about what gets traded to a degree. i.e if you've got a bunch of books you want to trade for gaming stuff that's fine.
Anyway, if you're interested please join. In the future I may need a couple of moderators as well. Of course the pay is lousy... *cough*non-existent*cough*.

the Scavenger's Depot
I've always liked the concept of bartering so I started this blog as a way to post things I would like to trade for stuff I want. Mainly, things having to do with my gaming hobby, like miniatures, rulebooks, terrain, collectible card games, and the occasional paperback, magazine, or comic book.
If I want to sell something I will use eBay.
I also plan on starting a yahoo group with the same title. Hopefully, I can generate some interest, and get to do some trading. I plan on making a list of want I want to trade for, and the things I have for trade. I hope this works out, but you ever know. All I can do is try.
So if you have some old ( or new ) gaming stuff you would like to trade, follow this blog, and maybe we can work something out.
